How payouts work

Each reader's pool is shared by the new pages they read from each series that month.

70% creator pool$6.99
Series A · 30 of 40 new pages$3.14
Series B · 10 of 40 new pages$1.05

Example only, not a promise of earnings. Real amounts depend on what each reader pays and reads. Payouts go out once your balance reaches $25, by the 30th of the following month, via Airwallex, PayPal or Payoneer. Ryuga covers the transfer fees.

Full terms: calculation, payouts, rights and review. Part of our Terms.

How you earn

Every month, 70% of each subscriber's net payment for Ryuga Premium ($9.99 per month) goes into that subscriber's creator pool. Net payment means what the subscriber paid Ryuga for their subscription that month, minus any refunds and store fees. Ryuga keeps the other 30% to run the service.

Each reader's pool is shared between the creators whose stories that reader actually read, in proportion to the number of new pages they read from each creator that month.

Example

A subscriber pays $9.99 net for Ryuga Premium this month, so their pool is 70% × $9.99 = $6.99 (rounded down to the cent). They read 30 new pages from Creator A and 10 new pages from Creator B (40 pages in total). Creator A earns 30 / 40 × $6.99 = $5.24. Creator B earns 10 / 40 × $6.99 = $1.75 (cents are rounded so the shares add up to exactly $6.99).

What counts as a page read

  • A page counts once per reader: only the first time a reader opens it.
  • Re-reading a page later in the same month, or a page the reader already read in an earlier month, does not count again.
  • If a paying reader reads no new pages in a month, their pool is not shared with any creator that month.

Monthly calculation (1st of every month)

On the 1st of every month, our system automatically calculates earnings for the month that just ended. Amounts are calculated in whole cents; any leftover cent from rounding is assigned by a fixed rule so that the total paid out always equals exactly 70% of net payments.

Payout methods

  • Airwallex is our main payout method and supports creators in many countries, including Vietnam.
  • PayPal is available for creators outside Vietnam.
  • Payoneer is our backup method if the other two do not work for you.

$25 minimum and rollover

We send a payout once your balance reaches $25. If your balance is below $25, it rolls over to the next month and keeps adding up. When it reaches $25, we pay the full balance.

Payment date

Earnings for a month are paid by the 30th of the following month. For example, earnings for January are calculated on February 1 and paid by March 30 at the latest.

Fees

Ryuga covers the transfer fees charged by Airwallex, PayPal or Payoneer for sending your payout. We do not deduct them from your earnings. Your own bank or wallet may still charge its own fees for receiving money or converting currency; those are outside our control.

License: you keep your rights

You keep ownership of your story, art and cover. When you publish on Ryuga you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, translate the interface around, and promote your work on Ryuga (the website and apps) and in Ryuga marketing, for as long as it stays published. Non-exclusive means you are free to publish the same work anywhere else.

You can unpublish or remove your story at any time in Creator Studio. Once removed, it is no longer shown to new readers; copies kept for backups, legal reasons or past earnings records are removed in the normal course. You confirm that you have the rights to everything you upload and that you are at least 18 years old.

Review & moderation

Every story, chapter and cover must follow our Content Guidelines. New content is reviewed before it goes live, usually within 72 hours; covers are reviewed too. Stories made with AI are allowed but must be labelled AI-generated or AI-assisted. Content that breaks the guidelines may be sent back for changes or removed, and earnings from content removed for serious breaks may be withheld.

Identity and tax

Ryuga does not ask for ID documents: signing up only needs your pen name, Google email and an 18+ confirmation. Our payout partners (Airwallex, PayPal or Payoneer) may verify your identity when you set up a payout method or withdraw. We may ask for tax forms before your first payout.

Terms FAQ

Do I get royalties from readers who only use free content?

Earnings come from readers' net payments. A reader who paid nothing that month adds nothing to the pool.

What happens if a reader gets a refund?

Refunds are subtracted before the 70% is calculated, so the pool is based on what Ryuga actually kept.

If a reader reads my story twice, do I get paid twice?

No. Only the first read of each page counts.

My balance is $18 this month. What happens?

It rolls over. If you earn $9 next month, your balance becomes $27 and we pay the full $27.

Which payout method should I choose?

Creators in Vietnam should use Airwallex. Creators elsewhere can choose Airwallex or PayPal. Payoneer is available as a backup.

Can these rules change?

We may update this program. We will post changes on this page before they apply to new earnings; earnings already calculated are not changed.

Who do I contact about a payout?

Use the contact page and include your creator account email.
